Manhattan Beach

SEVERNA PARK, MARYLAND

MBCA Security

Manhattan Beach has been utilizing Flock Safety since 2020 to help prevent crime in our community by providing visibility into vehicles entering and leaving. We have two license plate readers (LPRs) installed on Stinchcomb near the American Legion that are continuously scanning for vehicles associated with crime.  They record every license plate and the time of day.

These LPRs not only serve as a deterrent but can help police identify a suspect’s vehicle in the event of an incident.  They do not record video or audio, and license plate information can only be shared with law enforcement should an incident be reported.  Only the President of MBCA and the authorized Program Coordinator have access to the data.

We are proud to see that our community is shown as an A+ category on the latest AA County Crime map, and we believe the LPR program has contributed significantly.  To download a copy of the MBCA official notification of this program on March 3, 2020, click HERE.
